Located in the centre of the historic town of Lagos, Don Sebastião Restaurant, has had a faithful following of regular diners since it opened in May 1979. Recognised as one of the finest dining experiences in Lagos and renowned for quality cuisine, the menu is inspired by traditional Portuguese fare, local specialties and an emphasis on freshly caught fish and sumptuous seafood. 2 large aquariums showcase the variety of colorful and delectable live crustaceans available including lobsters and crabs.

Main courses include pork chops with figs, succulent shellfish rice, shrimp cooked with savory spices and grilled fresh fish.

Delicious desserts include Algarve regional specialities such as "Don Rodrigo", "Morgado da Serra", and almond cakes. After dinner, coffee and port are always served accompanied with a basket of figs and almonds.

2 large dinning rooms are decorated in rustic style with al fresco dining available on the cobbled front patio.

A main attraction is the spectacular underground wine cellar that cannot be missed by connoisseurs. The amazing treasure trove boasts an extensive collection of wines from all over Portugal along with vintage Port and Madeira wines, plus impressive historic bottles from the owners private collection. The restaurants wine list carries over 240 varieties of red, white, "vinho verde" and rose. Special tours of the cellar and wine tastings can be organized by prior arrangement.
